Housing Accords and Special Housing Areas (HASHA) Application

PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE

Aurecon (led by Aaron) was appointed to undertake the consent application and associated planning for a Special Housing Area at Parton Road, Papamoa. Our work included scheduling the site (zoned for employment use), consultation and preparation of three applications under HASHA 2013 (including all regional consents) to be dealt with by the City Council under global consent processes provided for under the HASHA processes.

 

It is proposed to develop the above lots in a staged fashion to achieve a housing yield of approximately 500 dwelling unit equivalents. Consent options under the RMA were discounted, as the HASHA process provided a faster and more risk-free opportunity to develop the site for residential purposes.

 

Aurecon have prepared and filed all applications for land use and subdivision consents (including Heritage NZ approvals and discharge consents). A single application made to Tauranga City Council encompassed all consents to enable them to be considered jointly and more efficiently.
